In 1995 he toured a one-man show throughout Europe. After musical directing the award-winning production of Purlie at the Bridewell Theatre in London's West End, his success then led him to become Musical Director to many West End and Fringe productions.  Steve has also been Vocal Coach to artists in such musicals as Les Miserable, Grease, Rocky Horror Show, How to Succeed in Business, Cabaret, Little Shop of Horrors, Sunset Boulevard, My Fair Lady and Rent just to mention a few.

In 2007 he played Fagin in the production of Oliver and performed in various productions as a Singer/Actor. He has been Musical Theatre Consultant to many leading London Theatrical institutions such as The Urdang Academy, Jam Theatre Co. and The Royal Academy of Music. Steve is still an active Musical Director and actor, keeping him constantly up to date within the industry.

Many students of DSOPA have become successful performers in community, semi-professional and professional theatre, film and television. Steve trains many professional artists and consults to various performing institutions and stage productions.

Steve has always been extremely active in teaching young people the craft of performing and after returning to his homeland Australia in 2009,  his vision has been to open his own performing arts studio and share his knowledge and vast experience. In addition to directing the DSOPA company, he is now launching his own theatre company.
